Amateur Swimming Club
HDASC is a thriving competitive swimming club, based at Aubigny Sports Centre in Haddington. We have swimmers from Haddington and across all of East Lothian.
At HDASC we believe anyone can be a competitive swimmer. We are dedicated to creating an environment that nurtures the enjoyment and enthusiasm of every athlete within our club, through a safe, positive environment.
We want to empower our athletes with a sense of personal integrity, based on fairness, equality, respect for others and the acceptance of rules.
HDASC provides a fun, friendly, focused environment where qualified, experienced coaches help children to develop excellent swimming technique, learn new skills and improve their stamina, speed and fitness, supported by a positive mindset.
Our Principles
The Club and the coaches help children to become the best swimmers that they can be, in a culture of fairness, where confidence is built and individual progress is celebrated.
We celebrate improvement in technique as well as achieving personal best times. Having the confidence to join in a competition, is just as important as any medals gained.
We are inclusive, supportive and encourage individuality. We value health, good nutrition, fitness, sportsmanship, citizenship, honesty, respect, hard work, discipline, teamwork and fair play.
Our club strives to instil and develop these life qualities and values through our coaching, our participation in competitions and events, and through the sport itself.

Our Coaches
Our trusted coaches are more than instructors, they are there to guide swimmers through their training and support the swimmers as they endeavour to be the best swimmer, and the best club member they can be. Coaching is about developing the whole person, not just the swimming.

Club Affiliations
Haddington & District ASC are a competitive swimming club affiliated to Scottish Swimming, East District & a member of the composite squad called East Lothian Swim Team (ELST). HDASC are proud to have been the first club in East Lothian to have been awarded Scottish Swimming “SwiMark” accreditation, demonstrating good practice and a commitment to athlete, volunteer and coach development.
